What is HearThat?

A conversation starts with being heard.

HearThat is a text-only support space for teenagers. Choose a conversation to share, understand your feelings or think through your options. No name or phone number is required to start.

How it works

  1. Choose the conversation mode that fits what you need.
  2. Review the chat conditions before continuing.
  3. Start a text conversation with a responder.
  4. Keep your Room ID to return while the conversation is open.

No name or phone number is required. Conversations are stored and administrators can read them.

Start a conversation

  1. Press Start and choose the mode that fits what you need.
  2. Read the chat conditions. Choose whether to save a copy on this device.
  3. Select Agree & continue, then type your message and press the send arrow.

Save a chat. Find it again.

  1. Keep your Room ID private. It is the key to your open conversation.
  2. In Options, turn on Save on this device to keep a copy in this browser.
  3. From the mode choices, select Return to a conversation. Choose a saved chat or enter your Room ID.

Browser data can be cleared, so keep your Room ID separately. Closing a chat disables its ID.

Privacy policy

Chats are stored on this server and administrators can read them. Saving on this device also keeps a browser copy.

Language, appearance, mute, and performance preferences are saved in this browser.
